Me online

Cassie Veselovsky is a librarian, children’s author, and early literacy advocate with a Master of Information and Library Studies from the University of Michigan. With over 30 years of experience in libraries across the U.S. and internationally, she’s spent her career helping kids and families fall in love with reading. Cassie writes musical, read-aloud-friendly picture books that support the five early literacy practices: read, write, talk, sing, and play. She also dabbles in history, especially stories inspired by her own family. Whether she’s crafting silly rhymes, leading storytimes, or presenting at professional conferences, Cassie is all about making books joyful, playful, and meaningful for even the youngest readers.

When she’s not writing, you might find her daydreaming about driving cross-country in an RV, hanging out with her rabbit, snake, and two cats, or resisting the urge to eat all the ice cream in the house. Despite being a librarian, the last adult book she read was the final installment of The Dresden Files. Her favorite quote? One from Captain Jean-Luc Picard: “Time is a companion who goes with us on the journey… What we leave behind is not as important as how we lived.”
