What happened to November?

I am not sure what happened to November.  We are now days before Thanksgiving and I don't ,know how we got here!  I'm not even ready for the gathering.  I had two events this month.  One on the 17th in Dexter talking about my grandfather and his art journey (the book Charles Franklin Chamberlain Drawn to France) and then the second on the 23rd  in Potterville at their Holiday Craft Fair.

Both were very fun and good events, but I think the prep took it out of me.  I am left feeling a bit drained coming into the holiday season.  I know I should be doing work to prep for my December show on the 14th, but I just want to rest!   All part of the life of a self-published author.  There is a crazy amount of work involved creating and marketing your own books!  It's no joke.

For as much as I love it, I could use one night of sleep without worry or stress LOL

My dear friend Sandy and her daughter came to my event in Dexter on the 17th.  It was so good to see them, as well as other friends who came too.  It means so knowing I have support. Thank you Lindas!  And thank you Sandy!

Why rhyming counting books are important

Rhyming counting books that count down from 1 to 5 are awesome for early literacy because they combine rhythm, rhyme, and numbers—all of which make learning fun and memorable! The rhymes help kids tune into the sounds in words, which is key for phonological awareness, while the countdown pattern supports number recognition and basic math skills. Plus, kids love the predictability and excitement of a countdown, which keeps them engaged. All of this lays a strong foundation for reading, counting, and understanding patterns, making these books a powerful tool in early literacy.
